I think it's an Am rather than an A (if you're playing bar chords an
A just sounds wrong), but the guitar is playing power chords (I think).
This is a bit of a detailed explanation for this song. What you need
to know is - 3 power chords... 40 seconds. Go for it.

Oh, you might need some of your stupidest friends for the, uh, backing
vocals in the chorus.
