THE DEAD MILKMEN
Dean's Dream - Bass

from Big Lizard In My Backyard

Tabbed by: Ben Gladdle (moose9377@hotmail.com)

Actually, the bass is pretty easy, but it sounds good nonetheless.

Verse/Intro:
-----------
   F#m Fm D
G-----------------------------------------------
D------------------------------------0----------
A-----------------------------------------------
E--2--2--1/2-2-2----2--2--1/2-2-2---------------

   F#m Fm D A E
G-----------------------------------------------------------------
D-----------------------------------------------------0-----------
A---------------------------------------------------------0-------
E--2--2--1/2-2-2----2--2--1/2-2-2----2--2--1/2-2-2------------0---

The intro just uses the F#m/Fm riff, but the verse uses these two
lines as necessary.

Chorus:
------
       D A E F#m
G----|-----------------------------------|
D----|-----------------------------------|
A--4-|-5---5-5-------5-7---7-8-9---9-4---| x3
E----|---------5---5---------------------|

   D A E
G-----------------------
D-----------------------
A--5---5-5-------5-7----
E----------5---5--------

This chorus just sounds funky. Very simple rhythm (which I've
tried to approximate), but fits in well. Only repeat the stuff
within the bars 3 times... Basically meaning that you only
play the lead in note (the 4) once each time. If I just confused
you, please feel free to ask.

F#m riff before Outro:
---------------------
   F#m Fm
G--------------------
D--------------------
A--9--9--8/9-9-9-----
E--------------------

This is different just this one time, and it's only up an octave.

Outro:
-----
     D A E F#m
G----------------------------------------------
D----------------------------------------------
A--4-5---5-5-------5-7------------7--7--8--9---
E------------5---5-----------------------------

The last chorus leading into this is the same as the others, just
the lyrics start on the next chord. This doesn't bother you. Just
play your bass, and end it like this! :)

There you go. Not too hard, but sounds great.
